As a Vienna Choir Boy, Edwin Wendler toured Europe, the United States, Canada, and Southeast Asia from 1986 to 1989, singing in hundreds of concerts and dozens of opera performances.
Having earned a Certificate in Film Scoring from UCLA Extension in 2000, Mr. Wendler worked as an arranger, programmer, and orchestrator for composer Paul Haslinger on movies such as Into The Blue (MGM, 2005), Turistas (Fox, 2006), and The Fifth Commandment (Sony, 2008). In 2010, Mr. Wendler received orchestration credit on the Warner Bros. movie, The Losers (composer: John Ottman). Mr. Wendler's television credits include arranging on the 2006 Showtime series, Sleeper Cell: American Terror, as well as composing additional music for the 6th season of NBC's popular reality series, Fear Factor.
Mr. Wendler has written the music for the 2010 family film, Christmas With A Capital C, the 2001 comedy feature, Home: The Horror Story, the 2007 internet series, The Interior, as well as the drama feature, Broken Angel. His score for the 2003 comedy short film, Wrong Hollywood Number, featured an enthusiastically reviewed recording with the London Metropolitan Orchestra.
For the 150th anniversary of the University of Ottawa, conductor Laurence Ewashko commissioned the choral / orchestral piece, Consolatio, which was broadcast on Canadian television and has also been performed by the Stockport Youth Orchestra, under Philip Mackenzie, in Manchester, England (2004). Other commissions include the a cappella Winter Medley for the Illumni Men's Chorale, Seattle, and the critically acclaimed string quartet, The Marriage, which has been performed in Canada and France.
